Zeekr rolls out initial over-the-air software update, enhancing vital functions for vehicle owners
Zeekr X Owners Receive Software Updates, Enhancing Safety and User Experience
Zeekr, the innovative electric vehicle (EV) brand, has released its first update for Zeekr X owners, bringing improvements to safety features and the user interface of the screen. These updates are delivered via over-the-air (OTA) technology, ensuring that the vehicle stays up-to-date with new technology and better functionality long after purchase.
The software update 1.05 includes improvements to Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Auto Lane Centring Assist (ALCA) and safety system refinements. One of the notable changes is the less intrusive drive fatigue monitoring with audible notifications.
Safety is a top priority for Zeekr, as evidenced by the Zeekr X receiving a 5-star ANCAP safety rating in December 2024. This recognition reinforces the vehicle's strong safety credentials for owners.
Both versions of the Zeekr X come equipped with the same 66 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery pack. The RWD variant delivers 200 kW of power and 343 Nm of torque, while the AWD variant delivers 315 kW of power and 543 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The RWD variant can accomplish the same feat in 5.6 seconds.
The Zeekr X offers fast-charging capabilities at speeds of up to 150 kW at the right DC chargers. For home charging, the RWD variant has a 7 kW AC onboard charger, and the AWD version has an 11 kW AC charger for faster charging. This means that the charging time on the AWD version drops to 7.5 hours when charging from 0% to 100%, compared to 11.5 hours for the RWD variant.
The Zeekr X's modern, tech-focused interior prioritizes comfort and convenience in dense urban settings. It features over-the-air (OTA) updates, large high-tech displays, and user-friendly cabin tech, creating a premium, connected driving environment. A soft switch has been added to the car for LKA and ALCA functions, which saves owners' settings instead of resetting every time the vehicle is turned off.
Pricing for the Zeekr X starts at $49,900 before on-roads for the base RWD model, and the top-spec AWD variant comes in at $62,990 before on-roads. The Zeekr X is priced lower than similarly sized competitors in the premium small SUV segment of the market, making it an attractive option for tech-driven premium small SUV buyers.
The Zeekr X comes with a 5-year, unlimited-km warranty for the car, and the battery is covered by an 8-year/160,000 km warranty, providing peace of mind for owners.
With these updates, Zeekr continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering a continually evolving vehicle software platform, combined with safety leadership and a modern, tech-focused interior, setting a new standard for the electric vehicle market.
