Mipcom Cannes, the renowned international television showcase, is set to host a significant event in October 2025, marking the 45th edition of the gathering. This year, the event will place a special focus on the 'global creator economy', and one of the most anticipated participants is YouTube.

YouTube, a pioneer in digital content creation, will make its first appearance at Mipcom Cannes, marking a strategic move to bolster international TV collaborations. Pedro Pina, the VP of YouTube EMEA, will lead the way, delivering a keynote speech to kick off the event.

In celebration of YouTube's 20th anniversary, the platform will have a substantial presence at the Palais des Festivals. The YouTube Space will serve as a hub for workshops, discussions, and events throughout the four-day event. Daily workshops and hosted events are planned, offering insights into audience engagement, monetization, and content formats.

Mipcom Cannes will also host the first local edition of BrandStorytelling, an event previously held at the Sundance Film Festival. This initiative aims to bring together content creators, digital studios, platforms, and brands in a unique setting.

Expanding on last year's innovation lab launch, Mipcom will provide a theatre, networking, and demo space within the Palais des Festivals. Additionally, a new workshop series with YouTube will cover various aspects of the creator economy, further enriching the event.

Lucy Smith, Mipcom Cannes and Mipjunior director, expressed her excitement about the 2025 event, stating, "Mipcom Cannes is uniquely positioned to create a global platform for content creators, digital studios, platforms, and brands." She also highlighted YouTube's increasing partnerships across the international television industry, making it a natural fit for the event.

Panels at Mipcom will cover a range of topics, including AI, FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television), streaming, and connected TV. These discussions will provide valuable insights into the ever-evolving world of television and digital content.
