X-Elio's $130M U.S. Solar-Plus-Storage Project to Power BASF, Create Jobs

X-Elio, a global leader in renewable energy, is investing heavily in the United States. The company is developing a pipeline of 2.8 GW in solar PV and 2.1 GW in storage units near me, with significant community initiatives in Liberty County, Texas, through its Community & Nature Plan. This project, representing a $130 million capital investment, has already created 125 construction jobs.

The Liberty Energy project, X-Elio's first solar-plus-storage venture in the U.S., is set to provide 48 MW of electricity to BASF under a 12-year power purchase agreement. This project, a partnership with Saft, features a 72 MW solar array and a 60 MW, 120 MWh battery energy storage system. The system comprises 34 Intensium Max Li-ion battery containers and 17 inverter systems, supplied by Saft.

The Liberty Solar project is designed to meet 100% of BASF Corporation's electricity demand at its Freeport, Texas industrial site. By avoiding 52.4 tons of carbon emissions, it supports BASF's long-term commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050.

X-Elio's Liberty Energy project, a testament to the company's commitment to renewable and sustainable energy, is set to power BASF's operations in Texas while significantly reducing its carbon footprint. This project, X-Elio's first public storage venture in the U.S., demonstrates the company's global expertise and 17 years of experience in driving sustainable energy solutions.
