In an exciting turn of events, billionaire entrepreneur Justin Sun has secured a seat on Blue Origin's New Shepard suborbital rocket, joining a diverse crew of passengers for the next mission, NS-34. The flight, which is scheduled but the exact launch date has yet to be announced, will mark Sun's long-awaited journey into space.

The New Shepard, an autonomous vehicle, offers passengers an opportunity to relax and enjoy the experience during the flight, lasting approximately 10 to 12 minutes from launch to landing. This mission will be the 14th crewed New Shepard flight and the fifth such mission of 2025.

Sun, who is worth about $8.5 billion, won a $28 million auction for a seat aboard the New Shepard vehicle back in 2021. Other notable passengers on NS-34 include Arvinder (Arvi) Singh Bahal, a real estate investor and adventurer, Deborah Martorell, a journalist and meteorologist from Puerto Rico, Lionel Pitchford, an Englishman who founded a nonprofit in Nepal, and James (J.D.) Russell, an entrepreneur and founder of Alpha Funds.

Sun's flight was originally scheduled for July 2021, but he had to back out due to scheduling conflicts. However, his dream of space travel is now set to become a reality, as he is now scheduled for New Shepard's next human flight, NS-34.

The New Shepard rocket is used for Blue Origin's space tourism missions. Upon reaching an altitude of over 62 miles (100 kilometers), passengers will experience weightlessness and stunning Earth views. The crew capsule lands with the aid of parachutes, and the rocket returns to Earth for safe landing and reuse.

Blue Origin's launch site for New Shepard flights is located in West Texas, near Van Horn. The most recent New Shepard flight, NS-33, occurred on June 29. While the launch date for NS-34 has not been publicly disclosed as of July 24, 2025, Blue Origin has stated they will announce the date soon, and Sun's crew (NS-34 mission) is next in line for liftoff.

In addition to his business ventures, Sun serves as the ambassador and former Permanent Representative of Grenada to the World Trade Organization and serves as an advisor to the HTX crypto exchange. As he prepares for this historic journey, the world eagerly awaits the announcement of the launch date for NS-34.
