Warwickshire: Police Investigate Drug-Laced Vapes Sold to Teens

Parents in Warwickshire are raising alarm about the sale of drug-laced vapes to teenagers. Warwickshire Police are probing reports of such products, with a dealer caught offering THC vape liquids to an undercover reporter posing as a child. The dealer's online promotions showed prices similar to fast food orders.

Local mothers have voiced concerns after their children fell ill from using vapes suspected of containing drugs. Warwickshire Police are now investigating these reports, with a dealer agreeing to meet near a playground in Birmingham to complete a sale. The dealer's Snapchat posts promoted THC vape liquids at affordable prices, making them accessible to children.

An undercover investigation revealed the ease of purchasing these dangerous products through Snapchat. The social media platform has taken action, removing over 2.4 million drug-related posts and deactivating 516,000 accounts in the past year. However, parents advocate for greater scrutiny of such platforms and enforcement of drug laws to protect their children.

Warwickshire Police are urging parents to be vigilant about their children's online activities and the potential dangers of vapes. Two teenage girls have already ceased using illegal substances following the investigation. Authorities suspect the vape products contain spice, a harmful synthetic drug, and are committed to cracking down on such sales.
