Vorwerk Aims High with the Introduction of New Thermomix Model
According to the latest numbers, the global demand for the new Thermomix TM7 is skyrocketing, surpassing the expected figure by a significant margin. A whopping 300,000 units have been ordered since its launch in February, and the numbers are still climbing.
While Germany is experiencing long delivery times due to high demand, Vorwerk is marching ahead with its plans to make two billion euros in sales with the Thermomix this year, marking a 18% increase from 2024.
The TM7 boasts innovative features, such as cooking food without a lid for the first time. With its sleek design and impressive capabilities, it's no wonder it's turning heads in kitchens around the globe. The device comes with a hefty price tag of 1,549 euros, which is 50 euros more than its predecessor. It's manufactured in Wuppertal and two factories in France, with the newly built factory in Donnemain-Saint-Mames expected to ramp up production.
The Thermomix isn't sold in stores; instead, it's distributed through direct sales. Independent consultants showcase the kitchen appliance at events and parties, much like a Tupperware party of the modern age. Despite the competition from other manufacturers like Bosch, Xiaomi, Moulinex, and Kenwood, the Thermomix remains Vorwerk's crown jewel, accounting for more than half of the company's revenue.
Interestingly, Vorwerk's success story doesn't end with the Thermomix. Despite a slight dip in profits due to high development costs, the company still managed to generate around 3.2 billion euros in revenue in 2024, similar to 2023. Their Cookidoo platform, which offers recipes for the Thermomix, saw a significant boost, gaining nearly 900,000 subscribers last year, bringing the total to around 6 million.
Founded in 1883, Vorwerk is Europe's largest direct sales company, riding the waves of success for over a century. As they continue to expand their distribution network, we can expect the delivery times for the TM7 to improve and the global demand to intensify.
