Viwoods AI Paper and AI Paper Mini Receive Significant Software Update
The latest 3.8 software update for Viwoods AI Paper and AI Paper Mini devices brings a host of new features, improvements, and optimizations designed to enhance user experience, interface design, and system performance.
One of the key updates is the enhancement of the Picking function. Users now have a new shortcut toggle in the dropdown menu, which enables a Picking floating button for faster access. This addition complements the existing top-right shortcut. The Picking quick-access pop-up window is now larger, with a transparent menu bar for easier content extraction and editing. A collapse icon lets users minimize the Picking menu into a floating button for repeated use, and the Picking window will now default to reopening the last session.
Users can also freely adjust document-matching parameters and toggle on/off PDF border lines, enhancing document viewing and editing flexibility.
The Daily Module Upgrades introduce several notable changes. Support for synchronization of subscribed events has been added for Outlook and Google Calendar. A new knowledge base module has been introduced, supporting session content saving. This module is integrated with the Gemini AI model and offers a trial web search feature, restricted to users logged into a Viwoods account.
The Audio and Meeting Module has been upgraded with added recording capability for meetings and notes. Audio recordings can be transcribed into text and organized using AI commands. Long-pressing voice files allows direct editing and application of AI commands, supporting flexible voice note management.
In the realm of annotation and note-taking, a floating shortcut button for quick notes at any screen position has been introduced. Content can be selected and saved as images into quick notes or inserted directly into notes for better knowledge organization. Upon first activation of the annotation tool, the page automatically locks for freehand drawing and annotations. After saving, annotations are combined with the page as a screenshot and the page unlocks for normal browsing.
Additional changes include the addition of a "Uncategorized" tag to the folder management panel, style changes made to EPUB, AZW, and AZW3 files now support quick navigation to the current content, and the folder creation icon is now consistently located at the top of the interface.
The update also resolves known issues, optimizes interface design, and enhances user experience and system performance. Handwriting compatibility has been added for the Xodo app and Gboard handwriting input, and the interaction and visual design of annotations and highlighted notes within Reading Notes have been optimized.
In summary, the update significantly enhances workflow efficiency, note-taking, content extraction, and integration with external calendar services, while improving the UI/UX through flexible controls and new AI-powered modules.
