Verizon's Hum Integrates Google Assistant for Hands-Free Car Management
Verizon's Hum, a 4G LTE-connected car accessory, has integrated Google Assistant. This allows users to perform human-specific actions, like locating their vehicle or checking fuel status, using any Google Assistant device. The integration is available from October 17, 2019, with full functionality expected by the end of Q1 2019.
Hum, priced at $120 or as low as $3.55 per month, tracks car health and usage, and acts as a safety device. It also includes a speaker for voice interactions and a Wi-Fi hotspot. With the Google integration, users can manage tasks and get answers hands-free while driving. This feature is not yet fully available but is expected to be by the end of the first quarter of 2019.
HumX, another version of the device, also acts as a voice calling speaker using Verizon's NumberShare platform. Users can control Hum from other Google Assistant devices, making it convenient for managing car-related tasks remotely.
