VDL Unveils Electric City Bus MU12E at Busworld Europe 2019
At the Busworld Europe 2019 in Brussels, Dutch manufacturer VDL Bus & Coach unveiled the MU12E, an electric city bus designed for the European market. The bus, part of VDL's electric lineup, was presented at a press conference, showcasing the company's commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.
The MU12E, now known as the VDL Citea MU12E, is a fully electric bus equipped with a 465.99 kWh CATL traction battery, offering a range of up to 550km on a single charge. It can operate in extreme temperatures, from -40°C to 80°C, and has a maximum speed of 90 km/h with a turning radius of 9.4 metres. The bus measures 12 metres in length, 2.5 metres in width, and 3.3 metres in height.
For enhanced safety, the MU12E features a 32-bit dual-core VCU processor and IPK6K9K protection for its key components. It also boasts newly designed split headlights and USB ports at each seat for passenger convenience. VDL Bus & Coach is not the only manufacturer to showcase electric vehicles at Busworld Europe 2019. King Long also presented the MC13E Coach, A02 Autonomous Bus, and V8 Smart Van.
