Updated Tang DM-i Hybrid SUV by BYD to enhance its attractiveness

In a significant move, Chinese automaker BYD has announced the launch of updated versions of its popular Tang DM-i SUV and Seal 07 DM-i hybrid sedan.

The Tang DM-i, BYD's flagship SUV series, has seen a series of upgrades. Measuring 4,905 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, the SUV now boasts a 6.9-liter onboard refrigerator, a significant improvement from previous models.

The new Tang DM-i variants also offer a 175-km battery range, an increase from the previous 115 km. This extends the vehicle's electric driving capabilities, providing a more eco-friendly and cost-effective driving experience.

The top-tier variant of the Tang DM-i SUV comes equipped with advanced features such as urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA), automated parking, and remote parking. It also includes the God's Eye B smart driving system with integrated LiDAR sensors and the DiPilot 300 suite.

Other variants of the Tang DM-i SUV feature the God's Eye C smart driving system with DiPilot 100, supporting highway and expressway NOA, automated parking, and remote parking.

The starting prices for these three new variants are RMB 179,800, RMB 189,800, and RMB 199,800 respectively. However, customers purchasing the Tang DM-i before the end of October can receive a RMB 10,000 trade-in subsidy, making the actual prices RMB 159,800, RMB 169,800, and RMB 179,800 respectively.

BYD has also launched an updated Seal 07 DM-i hybrid sedan with upgraded specs and lower overall pricing. The exact details of the upgrades and pricing for the Seal 07 DM-i have not been disclosed yet.

Since its inception, the Tang family has sold over 800,000 units, with the Tang family selling 103,447 units from January to August, accounting for 3.61 percent of BYD's NEV sales during the same period.

The Tang DM-i SUV also comes with a high-speed flat tire stability system, enhancing safety and driving performance.

In the Philippines, the new Tang DM-i top model equipped with the integrated LiDAR sensor and DiPilot 300 is priced at approximately ₱2,098,000 (about $38,000 USD). Other versions in China range from around $28,000 to $39,000 depending on the specific model and configuration.

With these updates, BYD continues to cement its position as a leader in the electric vehicle market, offering affordable, high-quality, and technologically advanced vehicles to consumers.
