Updated FIR Designer Version 4.5 Introduces Equalizer for Bose Professional Processors and Amplifiers
Eclipse Audio, a prominent name in the audio industry, has recently announced an exciting partnership with Bose Professional. This collaboration sees the integration of Eclipse Audio's FIR Designer DSP software with Bose Professional Sound Processors and a range of their amplifiers, including PowerShareX, PowerShare, and PowerMatch.
With this update, the FIR Designer software can now be used with Bose Professional's sound processors, expanding its compatibility and broadening its reach. This collaboration is not just a simple integration, but a response to the varying results produced by filters across different processor brands.
The updated FIR Designer software now includes Bose filter emulation, ensuring consistent results for common IIR filters used in DSP functions for EQ across Bose products. This emulation is a result of close collaboration between Eclipse Audio and Bose, aiming to bridge the gap between different brands and deliver a unified experience.
The Bose Professional IIR filter mode offers a variety of options, including parametric, low-shelf, high-shelf, notch, Butterworth (1st & 2nd order) high-pass and low-pass filters. Furthermore, the update increases the total number of brand-emulating modes in FIR Designer to 16.
In addition to the brand-specific modes, a 'Generic' mode is also available for unrepresented audio brands in FIR Designer. These filters can be saved and exported as a .peq file for upload into a ControlSpace Designer PEQ block.
In a separate announcement, Eclipse Audio has also introduced the Eclipse Audio FIR Creator EX V2. This new addition to their lineup is expected to further enhance the capabilities of their FIR Designer software, offering users even more versatility and control in their audio projects.
This collaboration and update are significant steps forward for Eclipse Audio and Bose, promising a more unified and consistent audio experience across a wider range of products. For audio professionals and enthusiasts alike, these developments are sure to be welcomed news.
