The MG Cyberster, an electric roadster with a unique blend of sportiness and exclusivity, has made its debut in India in July 2025. Priced at around Rs 74.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with early pre-bookings offering a discount of Rs 2.5 lakh, the Cyberster is the most affordable electric roadster in India[1][3].

The Cyberster's design is a nod to the past, with retro-inspired roadster aesthetics, scissor doors, and 20-inch alloy wheels. It will be available in four colour combinations, including Nuclear Yellow with a black roof, Flare Red with a black roof, Andes Grey with a red roof, and Modern Beige with a red roof[2][3].

Inside, the Cyberster boasts a futuristic and sporty cabin, featuring performance-style seats upholstered in suede and vegan leather, dual 7-inch digital instrument screens, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, PM 2.5 air filter, and an 8-speaker Bose audio system[2][3]. The steering wheel is a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel with integrated audio and display controls, and the driver can adjust regenerative braking levels using paddle shifters[2].

Under the hood, the Cyberster is powered by a 77 kWh ultra-thin battery pack paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. It generates 510 PS and 725 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful MG production model. The Cyberster can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds, assisted by a Launch Control Mode. The top speed is electronically limited to 200 kmph[1][2][3].

The Cyberster offers Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a Driver Monitoring System. It also includes 4 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)[3].

In the Indian market, the Cyberster's positioning is unique, with limited direct competition in the electric convertible sports car segment at its price point. However, it indirectly competes with electric sedans like the Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4, premium electric sedans with high performance but different body styles[1][2][3]. Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT, which are pricier, represent the closest performance electric sports cars with a strong global reputation, but they are not direct Indian-market roadster rivals at this price.

The MG Cyberster brings fast acceleration, AWD performance, retro convertible styling, and long electric range to the Indian market at a notably competitive starting price under Rs 75 lakh, targeting enthusiasts who want a sporty, electric roadster experience[1][2][3][4].
