Underberg Expands Sparkling Wine Portfolio with Gancia Prosecco
Underberg has expanded its cooperation with Italian winery Gancia. The German company, through its subsidiary Diversa, has taken over the distribution of Gancia Brut, Prosecco DOC, and Rosé Prosecco Extra Dry DOC in Germany. The suggested retail prices for these sparkling wines range from 7.99 to 11.99 euros per bottle, with promotional prices between 6.99 and 8.99 euros.
Thomas Mempel, a board member of Underberg and managing director of Diversa, praised the collaboration with Gancia as professional and respectful. The distribution started immediately, following a previous successful partnership with the vodka brand 'The Standard'.
Diversa's marketing director, Tim Nentwig, finds Gancia products compatible with their portfolio. He expects the Proseccos to benefit from the current sparkling wine trend, given their price competitiveness and high demand, often outpacing champagne due to accessibility.
Underberg's Diversa has started distributing Gancia's Brut, Prosecco DOC, and Rosé Prosecco Extra Dry DOC in Germany. The collaboration is described as professional, and the products are expected to perform well due to their price point and market demand for Prosecco.
