Unbounce Report: Simplify, Optimize Mobile for Better Conversions
A recent Unbounce report reveals insights into mobile and desktop landing page conversions. Despite 83% of visits coming from mobile, desktops still convert better. However, simpler language and mobile optimisation can boost mobile conversions significantly.
The Unbounce report highlights that complex language hinders conversions. Pages with simpler, 5th to 7th grade level language see an 11% conversion rate, compared to a 24.3% decrease with complex words.
Optimising mobile pages can lead to substantial gains. If all industries improved their mobile pages, an additional 1.3 million conversions could have been reported. Despite this, desktop pages still convert 8% better. The median conversion rate across all industries is 6.6%, varying from 3.8% to 12.3% depending on the vertical.
Email leads in conversion rates at 19.3%, followed by paid social platforms like Instagram and Facebook. However, the report does not specify which companies achieved higher conversion rates on their mobile landing pages compared to desktop.
The Unbounce report underscores the importance of keeping landing pages fresh and optimised. Simplifying language and improving mobile pages can significantly boost mobile conversions. Despite mobile's dominance in visits, desktop still leads in conversions, highlighting the need for balanced optimisation strategies.
