Trump, Musk Team Up to Speed Up Air Force One Delivery
President Trump has been vocal about Boeing's delays in delivering the new Air Force One. In an effort to expedite the process, he has been in discussions with Elon Musk, with Boeing working closely with the tech mogul to minimize setbacks and financial losses.
The project, initially slated for delivery in 2024, has been pushed back to 2027 and 2028 due to its complexity and technological demands, a common challenge in large defense projects. Trump, however, has managed to reduce the project's costs by $1.6 billion through negotiations with Boeing during his first term.
Trump has also expressed a desire to change the color scheme of the Air Force One to a darker blue, a departure from its traditional scheme. Despite Musk's involvement, it is not publicly known what specific role he plays in accelerating the delivery of the new Air Force One.
The new Air Force One's delivery is now expected in 2027 and 2028, with Boeing and Musk working together to minimize delays and financial losses. Trump's negotiations have resulted in a significant cost reduction, and the project's color scheme is set to change under his direction.
