This weekend, you can explore Apple TV+ content without charge: Learn the method.

This weekend, Apple has made all their programming and films on Apple TV+ complimentary, ending on January 5th. This is something the company hasn't done before, but the timing is perfect. The vast array of quality content, its diversity, and the variety make it worth more than just a weekend's worth of entertainment.

The timing is also strategic, as one of the service's most popular shows, "Severance," is about to premiere its second series.

How to Watch Apple TV+ Free Weekend

There are numerous ways to stream Apple TV+ content. If you have an Apple TV box connected to your TV, it offers the best experience. The interface effortlessly serves up Apple TV+ shows, and the latest Apple TV remote is a breeze to use. Just log in using your Apple Account.

If you don't have an Apple TV box, you can still watch on your TV if it has the Apple TV app. This includes brands like Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio, and TCL. Once logged in with your Apple Account, all you need is there.

The Apple TV app is also available on platforms like Roku and Amazon Fire Stick, and gaming consoles.

Besides TVs, you can also watch on other devices like Macs, iPhones, and iPads (except Apple Watch, which would be absurd). You can stream shows on these, or visit www.tv.apple.com.

What to Watch on Apple TV+ Free Weekend

One of the earliest hits on Apple TV+ is still one of the most successful: "Ted Lasso." This comedy about Ted Lasso's unlikely coaching job with a failing British soccer team is hilarious, touching, and heartwarming. All three seasons are there for your viewing pleasure.

"Severance" has been another big success, and the timing of this offer hints at Apple's hopes: watch season one now, and you'll have to sign up to catch the second series starting January 17.

For me, the standout show of the lot is "Slow Horses," a fantastic spy thriller with a dark and comical edge. It follows a ragtag team of failed spies, exiled to the dismal Slough House. The leader, Jackson Lamb, is a heavy-drinking, uncouth, and unstoppable character. The cast is excellent, especially Gary Oldman and the fantastic Saskia Reeves. Miss it at your own risk.

Another must-watch is "Bad Sisters," a dark comedy about five Irish sisters.

And there are numerous movies to choose from, like "Wolves," starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, the seasonal musical "Spirited," and Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon."

Don't forget to catch the understated comedy "On the Rocks" with Bill Murray.

Fair warning, there's too much to watch in just one weekend—which is exactly what Apple is banking on. And with certain new purchases, like an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV box, you also get three months' free Apple TV+.

Enjoy your viewing.

If you don't have an Apple TV box but your TV supports the Apple TV app, you can still watch Apple TV+ content for free this weekend by logging into your Apple Account on the app.
