Tesla Introduces Model Y Standard: Affordable Electric SUV with Impressive Range
Tesla has introduced the Model Y Standard, a more affordable version of its electric SUV, aiming to attract price-conscious buyers. Starting at ₹53,630, the Model Y Standard offers an impressive range and performance at a lower price point.
The Model Y Standard boasts an estimated range of 517 km on a full charge, ensuring long-distance travel without frequent charging stops. Powering this SUV is a single rear-mounted electric motor with a 69.5 kWh battery, producing 300 hp. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, providing a swift and responsive driving experience.
To enhance affordability, Tesla has made some design changes. The Model Y Standard features a solid metal roof instead of the panoramic glass roof, improving insulation. Inside, it comes with fabric seats instead of leather and traditional lighting instead of the signature light bar. The steering wheel is manually adjustable, and there's no rear touchscreen, further reducing costs. Despite these changes, the Model Y Standard retains its appeal with a spacious interior and modern aesthetics.
Tesla offers optional upgrades for the Model Y Standard. For ₹6.6 lakh, customers can add Full Self-Driving (Supervised), and a high-speed home charger can be purchased for ₹37,000. These options allow buyers to customize their vehicle to suit their needs and preferences.
The Tesla Model Y Standard, priced at ₹53,630, offers an attractive blend of affordability, range, and performance. With its estimated 517 km range and 6.8-second acceleration, it's a compelling option for those seeking an electric SUV without breaking the bank. The optional upgrades further enhance its value, making it an appealing choice in the Indian market.
