Tech giant Google selects Daiser for its AI accelerator program

Digital health company Daiser, co-founded by UK Professor Mike Trenell and US tech innovator Adam Wootton, has been selected for Google's prestigious Growth Academy: AI for Health startup accelerator programme.

The three-month hybrid programme, taking place in Poland, will see Daiser join a cohort of 25 standout startups from around the world, including Morocco and the UAE. The programme is part of Google’s initiative to support promising startups that leverage artificial intelligence to advance healthcare solutions.

Daiser's AI-native platform takes a people-first approach, enabling personalised, scalable solutions for healthcare providers and researchers through a flexible 'Lego brick' system. The company is already partnering with some of the UK's most respected institutions, including the South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub (SYDHH) and the EPSRC's EdgeAI Hub.

Noam Feinstein, Senior Startup Partner Manager and Campus Lead at Google for Startups, expressed excitement about welcoming Daiser to the Growth Academy: AI for Health. "We are thrilled to support Daiser's mission to redefine the future of health," Feinstein said.

The Google for Startups Growth Academy: AI for Health is designed to help AI-focused health technology startups accelerate their innovation. Participating startups typically gain opportunities for technical support, business development, and connections to potential investors and collaborators within the digital health ecosystem.

The programme offers virtual and in-person sessions on AI best practices, product design, leadership, responsible innovation, and customer growth. Participants will receive ongoing technical support from Google’s expert teams during and after the programme.

Professor Mike Trenell, co-founder of Daiser, views the Google Growth Academy: AI for Health as a launchpad for redefining healthcare in the age of AI. "Being chosen by Google is recognition of the transformational potential we see in Daiser," Trenell said.

The AI in Health Accelerator is delivered by Pioneer Group in a joint effort with Innovate UK, MRC, and AstraZeneca. Meanwhile, ongoing research is being conducted on using AI to extract health data from sound. A £10m funding has been allocated for AI-powered robotic labs to accelerate deadly infection treatment.
