Tata Motors' Nexon EV Hits 50,000 Sales as India's Charging Infrastructure Booms
Tata Motors has made significant strides in India's electric vehicle (EV) market. The company has expanded the charging infrastructure by over 1500% between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, boasting over 6,000 charging stations nationwide. Meanwhile, its popular Nexon EV has reached a milestone of 50,000 unit sales.
The Nexon EV, launched in 2020, has become the highest selling electric car in India. It is available in Prime, Max, and Dark variants, with prices starting from Rs. 14.49 lakhs. Tata Motors has seen a remarkable growth in electric car sales over the past three years, with the Nexon EV contributing up to 15% to the total Nexon brand sales.
This growth is partly attributed to the expansion of charging infrastructure. India's charging points have grown by over 1500% between FY21 and FY23, making it easier for EV owners to recharge their cars.
Tata Motors' Nexon EV has achieved a significant milestone, reflecting the growing demand for electric cars in India. The company's expansion of charging infrastructure has been a key factor in this growth, making EVs more accessible and convenient for consumers.
