Tag Energy Expands in Australia with $6B Acquisition of ACE Power
Tag Energy has expanded its Australian presence with the acquisition of Sydney-based engineering firm ACE Power. The deal secures around six gigawatts of renewable energy projects, including several solar PV projects with battery storage, wind farms, and the 101-megawatt Yabulu Solar Farm.
The acquisition includes ten battery storage projects with a total capacity of over 12 gigawatt-hours. ACE Power founder Andy Scullion will lead Tag Energy's Australian development department, ensuring continuity in the company's growth.
Among the acquired projects is the 'Hillview Energy Hub' in New South Wales. This hub combines 200 megawatts of wind, 250 megawatts of solar PV, and a large-scale battery with 1 gigawatt of power and 8 gigawatt-hours of capacity. The 'Yabulu Solar Farm' was previously developed and operated by Edify Energy before its sale to Tag Energy.
Tag Energy's Australian project pipeline now totals ten gigawatts following this transaction. The company is currently building and operating 1.33 gigawatts of projects. Existing joint projects with third parties will continue under the name Tag Energy, demonstrating the company's commitment to its partners and the renewable energy sector.
