Subway Switzerland Launches Plant-Based Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich with Planted

Subway Switzerland has launched a new plant-based teriyaki chicken breast sandwich in collaboration with Swiss leader Planted. The sandwich is now available in all 52 Subway locations across the country, priced at 6.90 francs ($8.70).

The partnership began unexpectedly when Subway Switzerland commented on one of Planted's Instagram posts, promising support if the post received 10 likes. This is not Subway's first venture into meat analogues; it has previously collaborated with Beyond Meat, The Vegetarian Butcher, Nestlé-owned Harvest Gourmet, and CP Foods' Meat-Zero.

The new sandwich features Planted's pea protein-based chicken breast, which is high in protein and fibre, and low in saturated fat. It is available every Saturday as the Sub of the Day. This collaboration is part of Subway's 'Swissness' strategy, aiming to work with local producers like Planted.

Subway's teriyaki chicken breast sandwich, made with Planted's plant-based chicken breast, is now available nationwide. This partnership is part of Subway's Swissness strategy, with more local collaborations expected in the future.
