The much-anticipated collaboration between Asus and Microsoft, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, are set to launch with an official price tag approaching the fall of 2025. Here's a closer look at what we know so far about these Xbox-branded devices.
Both models, the ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful Ally X, weigh 670g and 715g respectively and feature a redesigned chassis with contoured grips similar to the Xbox controller and impulse triggers for added haptic feedback. They come equipped with a 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DisplayPort 2.1 / Power Delivery 3.0, Thunderbolt 4 compatible, a UHS-II microSD card reader, and Wi-Fi 6E (2 x 2) and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity.
The standard ROG Xbox Ally is powered by a Ryzen Z2 A chip, 16GB LPDDR5X-6400 RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 60Wh battery. On the other hand, the ROG Xbox Ally X boasts AMD's new Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor with 8 cores, 16 RDNA 3.5 graphics cores, 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory, and an 80Wh battery.
In terms of pricing, the leaked European prices suggest €599 for the ROG Xbox Ally and €899 for the ROG Xbox Ally X. However, the US prices are expected to be markedly different due to factors like local taxes, import duties, tariffs, currency exchange rates, and market strategy.
