Breadstack, a company known for its supportive and fast-moving team, is on the hunt for a skilled WordPress Website Developer to join its international workforce. This remote-first role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, with a focus on building and maintaining WordPress websites, themes, and plugins, particularly for e-commerce sites using WooCommerce.

Key Requirements

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in WordPress theme and plugin development.
  • Proficiency in custom theme development and working with core and custom modules.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and data formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Familiarity with tools like ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), Gulp, npm, Composer, and version control systems such as Git.
  • Understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility compliance.
  • Good command of written English.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining, updating, troubleshooting, and developing WordPress websites.
  • Building new WordPress pages and sites from provided designs.
  • Developing custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to customer needs.
  • Creating reusable components and functionalities using PHP and front-end technologies.
  • Collaborating with design and backend teams to ensure quality and performance.
  • Implementing, reviewing code, and participating in peer code reviews.
  • Translating business and UX requirements into well-structured WordPress architecture.
  • Ensuring sites have high performance, security, and are suitable for high traffic.
