SpaceX Aims for August Takeoff for Starship's Tenth Experimental Mission
The countdown to the next orbital flight of SpaceX's Starship rocket is on, with the company's Starship Flight 10, using Ship 37, clearing a significant hurdle after successful static fire tests.
The tests, which included a single-engine and a six-engine firing on a modified orbital launch mount at Starbase, Texas, mark a significant milestone in the lead-up to the launch. These tests come after previous setbacks, such as the fiery failure of Ship 36 during its static fire test in June.
Ship 37 has undergone all necessary vehicle integration work, including installing Raptor engines, flaps, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing systems. It has also been stacked on the orbital launch mount for testing. The launch pad (Pad 1A) has been modified to accommodate Ship 37's static fires after damage caused by Ship 36’s failure.
Assuming no further delays, the targeted launch date for Starship Flight 10 is mid-August 2025. After static firing, Ship 37 will return to final preparations, and the pad will revert to its launch configuration, a process expected to take about two weeks. This timeline places the launch window realistically in mid-August.
With Ship 37 flight-ready and undergoing final checks, SpaceX is aiming for a mid-August 2025 launch of Starship Flight 10 from Starbase, Texas. Once operational, the Starship rocket, developed by SpaceX, is expected to play a central role in NASA's Artemis program and serve as the backbone of SpaceX's Mars colonization ambitions.
Meanwhile, SpaceX recently launched the Crew-11 mission to the International Space Station on Friday, demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to space exploration. Stay tuned for more updates on Starship Flight 10's liftoff in the coming weeks.
