The Palace Bar in Miami's South Beach has undergone a significant transformation, upgrading its sound system to deliver an unparalleled audio experience for its patrons.
Tom Donall, the owner of the iconic gay restaurant bar, sought to improve the sound system to better convey the energy of the Palace Bar shows. In collaboration with Lord Toussaint, CEO of Miami-based loudspeaker manufacturer Infinite Audio Systems, Donall designed a sound system that would cover every part of the venue and withstand the outdoor elements.
The sound system, comprised of Infinite Audio Systems speakers and Powersoft amplifiers, is robust, reliable, and efficient in terms of rack space. The main stage and interior dance floor use a two-way horn-driven Infinite Audio CDX 15V setup for mids and highs. The rooftop, with its 12 speakers, is also driven by Powersoft amplifiers. The lowest speaker load at the Palace Bar is a 4-ohm load, which Powersoft amplifiers can handle effectively.
The Palace Bar, known for its lively shows and serving diners for more than three decades, has four different areas: cafe, dance floor, rooftop, and main outside area. The lower level consists of 50 Infinite Audio Systems speakers, powered by 10 Powersoft amplifiers.
The support from Powersoft's team, particularly senior sales manager Rick Woida, has been invaluable in the installation of the new sound system at the Palace Bar. The Powersoft X Series amplifier platform, designed for both touring and install applications, offers superb audio quality and loudspeaker management.
The Powersoft amplifiers used in the Palace Bar’s sound system overhaul are known for several key features that make them ideal for high-profile entertainment venues. They deliver high power density, have advanced DSP for precise tuning, are energy efficient, and have a robust build for reliability. They also support network control and monitoring, and can easily scale up to serve larger setups or integrate with other sound system components.
These features translate into benefits for the Palace Bar, such as exceptional sound quality, space efficiency, energy savings, reliable performance, and operational flexibility. The end result of the Infinite Audio-Powersoft setup exceeds Donall's expectations, providing an immersive audio experience that enhances the atmosphere and energy of South Beach nightlife.
