Škoda packs a punch with the RS, equipping it with dual electric motors - one on each axle - delivering a combined 250 kW/340 PS. The all-wheel-drive system provides unparalleled traction, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds. Impressive torque of 679 Nm guarantees effortless short sprints and effortless overtaking. In the Czech Republic, the powertrain proved impressively potent.
Handling is where the Elroq RS truly shines. The steering system is direct, precise, and adaptive, becoming less sensitive at higher speeds for a secure driving feel. To further augment the experience, the adaptive DCC suspension (comprising only of adaptive dampers, not air suspension) adjusts between sport and comfort modes, creating a notable difference in ride quality. The heavier SUV tends to understeer when pushed to the limit, but its overall handling impresses.
Range and Charging
The Elroq RS sports a high-voltage battery storing a generous 79 kWh of energy, offering a range of up to 549 km according to the WLTP cycle. Its DC fast-charging capability outpaces that of other Elroq variants, with the capacity to recharge from 10 to 80 percent in just 26 minutes. During our test drive, we achieved around 20 kWh/100 km, combining country roads and highways.
Škoda highlights the Elroq RS's dynamic character with subtle design touches. Black accents on the roof rails, exterior mirrors, and window frames accentuate the sporty look, as do specific front and rear bumpers. The RS-exclusive 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels complete the dynamic ensemble without appearing ostentatious.
Step Inside the CockpitThe interior boasts a digital cockpit featuring a 5-inch instrument display and a 13-inch infotainment screen. Lime-green contrast stitching, carbon decor accents, and sport seats are a matter of taste. The driver's seat features electric adjustability, massage functions, and memory settings, ensuring long drives are as comfortable as the Elroq RS is quiet.
Assistance systems support the driver in critical situations. The standard head-up display with augmented reality function, for instance, projects relevant information directly into the driver's field of view, while the navigation system handles both route and charging plans.
