Scottish Episcopal Church Donates IT Equipment to Empower 216 Students Worldwide

The Scottish Episcopal Church has donated IT equipment to The Turing Trust, a charity inspired by Alan Turing, the father of modern computing. This generous gift will benefit students in disadvantaged communities across Africa, Asia, and the UK.

The donation, made on April 11, will provide 216 students with access to computers. This will not only empower these young minds but also offset three tons of CO2 emissions. The embodied energy savings from this donation can power one UK home for a year.

The Turing Trust, based in Edinburgh, has a long-standing commitment to enabling access to computers for students. In the last 15 years, they have helped over 252,000 students worldwide. The trust refurbishes donated equipment, installs educational software, and equips schools, aligning with Turing's vision of using technology to solve immense challenges and help others.

The donation from the Scottish Episcopal Church will make a significant impact, providing 216 students with access to technology while also contributing to environmental sustainability. The Turing Trust, inspired by Alan Turing's passion for helping others, continues its mission to empower disadvantaged communities through IT education.
