Schloss Steinheim's 'Prince George's Garden Dream' to Feature Lasse-Marc Riek's Mesmerizing Sound Installation

Schloss Steinheim's upcoming exhibition, 'Prince George's Garden Dream', will feature a captivating sound installation by renowned artist Lasse-Marc Riek, opening on October 10, 2025. The installation, funded by the Sparkasse Hanau Foundation and the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain, will transform the Nightingale Grove into a mesmerising sound forest.

Riek, a recipient of numerous awards for his soundscape and electroacoustic compositions, will present unique compositions of rare and fascinating sounds. His work has been showcased in international museums like the Museum of Communication Frankfurt and the Museo Reina Sofía Madrid. The installation is part of a historical exhibition exploring the life of Prince George of Hesse-Darmstadt during his residence at Schloss Steinheim from 1809 to 1813.

The sound installation will be open to the public on October 18 and 19, from 11 AM to 5 PM, free of charge. Riek will also give a lecture titled 'Seeing with the Ears - Between Art and Science' on October 9, priced at 6 € plus museum entrance fee. The exhibition will conclude on October 19, 2025.

Visitors can expect an immersive auditory experience as part of the 'Prince George's Garden Dream' exhibition. Riek's sound installation promises to enhance the historical context of the exhibition, offering a unique perspective on the life of Prince George of Hesse-Darmstadt.
