Samsung's TriFold smartphone may fail to hit stores within your country
Samsung is gearing up to enter the foldable smartphone market once again with the upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold, a device that boasts three panels and a unique dual-hinge design. Here's what we know about the highly anticipated device so far.
Leaks and rumours suggest that the Galaxy Z TriFold will feature three panels, setting it apart from its predecessors. The NFC chip's position for the device has reportedly leaked, offering a glimpse into its design. However, the lack of leaks surrounding Samsung's upcoming products indicates that the rumour mill may have run ahead of the company's plans.
Initially, it was expected that the Galaxy Z TriFold would be teased alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in July. However, it remained absent, leaving fans eagerly waiting for more information.
Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly working on a new venture, Project Moohan, which is expected to lay the foundation for a new wave of Android headsets. This initiative, in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, aims to counter the Apple Vision Pro.
As for the Galaxy Z TriFold's release, there's a rumoured launch event in South Korea on 29 September. New information from CNN suggests that Samsung's plans for the device include South Korea and China, but the USA is still under consideration. The initial distribution could start in November with a limited production of about 50,000 units.
It's possible that Samsung will launch the device primarily in South Korea, with plans to possibly sell it also in the USA. However, it does not currently plan to launch the Galaxy Z TriFold in Europe. There's a possibility that Samsung will first launch Galaxy Glasses in South Korea to test the market before looking at wider availability.
Despite the excitement surrounding the Galaxy Z TriFold, no official information about the launch has been released by Samsung. It's also possible that the device might not be available in the UK, Europe, or Australia.
In addition to the Galaxy Z TriFold, Samsung is thought to be working on Galaxy Glasses. The USA is still under consideration for the launch of the Galaxy Z TriFold, and a final decision about where the device will be sold has not been reached.
Leaked animations offer a glimpse into how some parts of the Galaxy Z TriFold would work. Notably, the device is expected to have a separate internal and external display, unlike the Huawei Mate XT.
Recently, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE, a tweaked version of the 2024 folding phone, reportedly sold out in minutes upon launch in South Korea and China. This success could indicate a strong demand for Samsung's foldable devices.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to follow the developments surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold.
