Samsung's One UI 8 Update Schedule, Compatible Devices, Key Features, and Latest Rumors Unveiled

Samsung's Android 16-based One UI 8 update is on the horizon, with leaks suggesting an early release this summer. The update is bound to bring a host of new features, design changes, and customization options for eligible devices.

Traditionally, Samsung launches a new Android version alongside its annual S series release. However, this year, reports indicate that the tech giant may kick off the One UI 8 rollout in July, skipping over smaller updates like One UI 7.1.1. This decision allegedly stems from the late rollout of One UI 7, which has put pressure on Samsung to streamline its update process.

A wide range of Samsung smartphones is expected to be eligible for the Android 16 update, including the flagship Galaxy S25 series, along with older models such as the S24, S23, S22, and S21 lineups, as well as foldable devices like the anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Mid-range phones are also reportedly on the list, with devices such as the A73, A56, A55, and more likely to receive the update.

Other eligible devices potentially include the Galaxy F55, F54, F34, F16, F15, and F06 from the F series. However, it's essential to note that Samsung has yet to confirm this list.

The new Android 16-based One UI 8 is likely to introduce the Log Video recording feature and Now Brief to older devices. In addition, the update may offer updated visuals, with rumors of a new organized layout for the Gallery and My Files. The company is currently working on developing more features for One UI 8.

The One UI 8 beta program has already commenced with the Galaxy S25 series in Germany, Korea, and the UK. If these leaks hold true, Samsung users can expect a more streamlined update process and a host of new features with the arrival of One UI 8 this summer. Samsung's announcement for the One UI 8 update is imminent, potentially arriving as early as July, and it's anticipated to cover a multitude of gadgets from the Samsung stable, including smartphones such as the Galaxy S25 series, S24, S23, S22, S21 lineups, as well as foldable devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. In addition, various mid-range phones like the A73, A56, A55, and others are speculated to be on the receiving end of this technology-infused transformation, with features like Log Video recording and Now Brief on the horizon, promising a more enhanced user experience.
