Samsung's One UI 8.5 Brings Privacy Protection for Messaging Apps

Samsung's upcoming One UI 8.5 update introduces a new Privacy Protection feature for messaging apps. The feature, spotted under 'More' in the share menu, offers a side-by-side compare view of the edited image, allowing users to redact sensitive information before sharing.

The new feature aims to prevent accidental oversharing of personal data from IDs, passports, bank cards, or other sensitive documents. It enhances security against AI phishing and reinforces data privacy for Samsung users.

The update, expected worldwide, will first reach flagship phones like the Galaxy S25 series and Z Fold 7. The feature scans images for sensitive information and lets users blur, pixelate, or redact those sections before sending, offering an efficient workflow.
