Samsung has rolled out early software updates for its latest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE, even before their official retail launch. The updates, which were reported by SamMobile and 9to5Google, focus primarily on improving security through the July 2025 security patch.

The firmware update versions for the devices are as follows: F966BXXS2AYGG for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, F766BXXS2AYGD for the Flip 7, and F761BXXS2AYG5 for the Flip 7 FE. These updates are relatively small in size, around 550 MB, indicating that the phones' out-of-the-box software is already stable and current upon release.

The updates apply the July 2025 Android security patch, which likely includes fixing vulnerabilities and minor performance or bug improvements. Samsung states that this update "improves device security," and also prevents users from downgrading to previous software versions afterward, ensuring continued protection against exploits patched in this update.

Samsung has also committed to a long support lifecycle for these models, promising seven years of major Android and One UI upgrades, plus monthly security updates for at least four years. This extended support applies to all three models, enhancing their long-term security and usability.

It is worth noting that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are Samsung's latest foldable devices, which are now the debut devices for the upcoming One UI versions. While these updates do not introduce any new features, larger updates with UX and UI features are expected during Galaxy S series launches, according to previous information from the company.

The early software updates for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE deliver essential security patches from July 2025, ensuring robust protection from day one while setting the stage for extensive future software support. These updates are common after a device launch, allowing Samsung to address larger security threats more effectively as the device spreads among users.
