Lingerie giant, Adore Me, unveiled its sustainability booster program this month, featuring four new startups targeting various phases of production. Swedish furniture store titan, Ikea, launched two fresh sustainability ventures in September, which included a solar energy project as part of their mission to attain climate neutrality by 2030. Jeanswear powerhouse, Wrangler, and its parent company, Kontoor Brands, put forward a system designed to minimize their climate impact in April, dubbed Global Design Standards.
Sustainable products earned a higher market share during 2022, increasing by 0.3% year-over-year and accounting for 17.3% of purchases compared to traditionally marketed goods, according to a report from Circana and the New York University Stern Center for Sustainable Business released in March. However, these products tend to command a hefty premium of 27.6% against conventionally marketed items.
Rothy's appointment comes over a year since they brought on Heather Archibald as the chief product and merchandising officer, as well as Jamie Gersch as chief marketing officer.
