Ricciardo's Rare Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar Heads to Auction
Daniel Ricciardo, the retired motorsport ace, is parting ways with a rare gem from his collection. A unique Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, commissioned by Ricciardo and one of only 150 coupes made, is set to go under the hammer at the Broad Arrow Zoute Concours Auction in Belgium on Friday 10 October. The car, numbered 089 and commissioned in European specification with left-hand drive, is expected to fetch between £2.1 million and £2.45 million.
The Valkyrie, which has clocked just 160km, boasts a striking Q by Aston Martin Dichroic Dawn paint finish in 'Badger Blue', a £30,000 option. Under the bonnet, it houses a 6.5-litre V12 engine coupled with an F1-style KERS hybrid boost system, churning out a colossal 1,176hp. This powerhouse can generate up to 1,800kg of downforce and has a top speed limited to 220mph.
Ricciardo, who spent approximately £141,500 on factory options, also invested in the 'Intensified' Valkyrie Ownership Experience Programme Service Plan. This included an initial payment of £62,000 and further annual instalments of £23,000 until 2029. The car has recently undergone a 24-month service and comes with a valid service plan until 2027.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie, number 089, is a testament to Ricciardo's taste for the extraordinary. With its unique paint finish, formidable engine, and Ricciardo's motorsport legacy, it promises to be a standout lot at the auction. The sale of this hypercar is part of Ricciardo's process of divesting valuable assets following his retirement from motorsport.
