Region reports road surface deterioration
In a quick turnaround, a problem with the asphalt on the A341 highway (Km 1265, Koksak checkpoint) has been sorted out, according to Liter.kz.
The Pavlodar region division of JSC "NC "KazAvtoZhol" swiftly attended to an emergency repair on the A341 highway (Km 1265, Koksak checkpoint), where distortion in the cement concrete slabs had been detected earlier.
"During the repair process, 26 cubic meters of faulty cement concrete pavement was replaced, 20 cubic meters of base course using a sandy-gravel mixture was installed, and 90 square meters of new asphalt concrete pavement was laid," the authority stated.
Notably, on June 12, 2025, the sudden rise in temperature to +33...+35°C led to deformation of cement concrete slabs on this stretch.
The concerted efforts of road services managed to resolve the issue expeditiously.

More on A341 and Kazakhstan Road Construction
A341 Highways: An Overview
The A341 in Kazakhstan might pertain to one of the regional roads, although comprehensive, frequently updated project lists for advanced road materials on the A341 are sparse in international sources and major infrastructure news outlets.
Kazakhstan's Road Modernization Efforts
Kazakhstan has been modernizing its road network, often implementing cutting-edge pavement technologies. The country has embarked on extensive road construction and renovation projects with assistance from foreign experts and investments (particularly from China and international organizations). These projects may involve the utilization of high-performance asphalt mixes for durability, owing to Kazakhstan's severe climate.
What Is "Super Asphalt"?
The term "super asphalt" is a generalized term that can denote:- Polymer-modified asphalt (to enhance elasticity, durability, and resistance to cracking)- High-performance asphalt mixes (with additives or fibers for a longer lifespan)- Eco-friendly warm-mix asphalt (lower production and laying temperatures)- Experimental smart or self-healing asphalt (with self-repairing capabilities)
A341 Status
No Official Announcement: There is no official announcement or broadly recognized documentation confirming the use of super asphalt or advanced asphalt mixes specifically on the A341 highway.
Possible Options: If any advanced asphalt was used, it would likely be polymer-modified or high-performance asphalt common in new construction, rather than experimental technologies.
Common Trends: As Kazakhstan invests in road quality, more highways could see improved mixes, but these would typically be announced by the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development or similar agencies.
