Gambling Giant Steps In To Aid Ukraine's Defense
In a shocking twist, the casino industry in Ukraine is stepping up to help the military in an unexpected way. The Slots City Foundation, a charitable arm of the gambling industry, has announced a new initiative: repairing damaged drones for the military. Previously, they've also funded military training at the UAV School.
Many Ukrainian businesses are juggling their primary tasks while meeting the army's needs. However, the collaboration between Slots City Foundation and the charitable foundation VOL, aimed at repairing drones, stands out, especially in the entertainment sector.
The initial drones set to be repaired are DJI Mavic 3 and DJI Matrice variants. The partners will cover the repair costs, making it a cost-effective venture compared to purchasing new drones for the frontline.
Artem Stogniy, Director of Slots City Foundation, expressed, "Repairing drones today is less expensive than buying new UAVs for the front. It's no less effective in saving our defenders' lives." The foundation has been investing in new drones and sponsoring military training for over a year, and this new project expands its defensive initiatives.
The financial efficiency of this project is clear. A DJI Mavic 3 costs between $2500-2700, while DJI Matrices range from $5000 to $25000 depending on configurations. By repairing damaged drones instead of discarding them, valuable resources are effectively utilized.
Igor Fedirko, Founder of VOL, explained, "This project emerged out of necessity. Given the military's adapted usage of any available drones, our goal is to reduce these expenses and increase the number of functional drones on the front."
More than just repair services, the project aims to offer specialized drone tuning as well. As the project progresses, the range of repairable models and accompanying services is expected to expand.
