Price-gouging scalpers peddle PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary pre-orders for an excess of $3,000 - eBay listings reveal astronomical markups ranging from 3 to 6 times the original price
In just over a month, Sony will release the highly-anticipated PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition console, priced at $1,000. However, due to its limited availability and high demand, the console is already appearing on resale platforms like eBay, with prices significantly higher than Sony's announced price.
The PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition, which includes a specially designed console, DualSense controller, and PS Portal, is expected to be a highly sought-after item among PlayStation fans. With only 12,300 units being produced globally, it's no surprise that the console is being resold on eBay at marked-up prices, ranging from $600 to over $12,300.
Sony has limited pre-purchases of the PS5 Pro and the 30th Anniversary Limited Edition variant to just one per user, but the console is not yet available for purchase. The base PS5 30th Anniversary Edition and accessories are being restocked, but the PS5 Pro edition remains scarce or potentially unavailable through official channels.
