Polestar 4 Introduces Digital Rearview Mirror for Enhanced Visibility
Polestar has introduced a digital rearview mirror in its new model, the Polestar 4. This innovative feature, first seen in the Precept concept, replaces the traditional mirror with an HD screen, offering real-time information and improved visibility.
The Polestar 4's digital rearview mirror can switch between HD display and standard mirror modes, providing flexibility for drivers. Ola Aldensjö, product manager for the Polestar 4, explains that this change enhances driver visibility and passenger comfort.
The absence of a traditional rearview mirror creates more space in the back seats, contributing to a more luxurious experience. The 2.5-megapixel camera with a 121-degree field of view offers a clearer image, especially in poor driving conditions. This innovation combines improved safety with increased comfort for both drivers and passengers. While the rearview mirror has remained largely unchanged since its introduction in the early 20th century, Polestar's digital rearview mirror is a significant advancement in automotive technology.
The Polestar 4's digital rearview mirror, inspired by the Precept concept, is a testament to Polestar's commitment to innovation. By combining improved safety features with increased comfort, this technology sets a new standard for modern vehicles.
