Panasonic Doubles Heat Pump Production by 2025, Targets Zero Emissions
Panasonic has unveiled an expanded and upgraded factory in Pilsen, Czech Republic, with plans to more than double production by 2025. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and zero CO2 emissions by the end of next year.
The expansion includes a newly constructed building spanning 102,000sqm, boosting production capacity by 250%. Panasonic invested around $373m (€320m) in the site, increasing in-house production of essential components to around 70%. By 2030, the annual capacity is set to reach 1.4 million units. The upgraded site will serve as Panasonic's primary European production and R&D hub for its air-to-water heat pump solutions.
Tetsumasa Mizuta, Managing Director of Panasonic HVAC CZ, expects production to more than double compared to 2024. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and zero CO2 emissions by the end of 2025.
Panasonic's significant investment in Pilsen, Czech Republic, signals its commitment to expanding production and reducing its environmental impact. The upgraded site is expected to create new skilled jobs and serve as a key European hub for the company's heat pump solutions.
