Panasonic Connect Introduces Advanced Auto-framing Functionality for Their Latest Products

Panasonic Connect is set to revolutionise its PTZ camera technology with the introduction of new auto framing capabilities, available as a paid plug-in called Advanced Auto Framing for the Panasonic Media Production Suite. Starting from Q2 2025, this feature will be accessible, and select auto-framing features will be available free of charge for the AW-UE160W/K PTZ camera through firmware and software updates in Q1 2025.

The Advanced Auto Framing plug-in incorporates state-of-the-art technologies such as auto-tracking, image recognition, and natural framing for precise camera framing. It also includes facial recognition for optimal framing of specific individuals, multi-camera support to improve subject detection and accuracy, and the ability to register up to three framing presets for user-defined framings.

Group shots framing for multiple subjects, stable framing of moving subjects based on advanced human body detection, privacy-conscious operation, subject-tracking autofocus using phase detection autofocus, and seamless integration with Panasonic remote camera controllers are among the other key capabilities of this plug-in. The plug-in also features a tablet-ready graphical user interface for easy touch-panel operation.

The AW-UE160W/K PTZ Camera can utilise the new auto framing feature with the AW-RP150GJ and AW-RP60GJ remote camera controllers, which are also compatible with the new auto framing feature for the AW-UE160W/K PTZ Camera.

This upgrade aims to streamline production workflows by providing professional-level framing quality combined with automation. The Media Production Suite software platform supports the new auto framing feature for various Panasonic PTZ cameras, enabling production teams to manage fast-paced and challenging environments more efficiently.

The livestreaming market is projected to grow by 23% from 2024 to 2030, and this new feature is expected to contribute significantly to meeting the growing demand for high-quality content. The new auto framing feature will be available in the AW-UE160 PTZ Camera and the Media Production Suite from Q1 2025.
