Oslo Airport Halts Landings After Drone Sighting
Oslo Airport, Norway's busiest, temporarily halted landings on Monday morning following a reported drone sighting. The pause, which lasted for about an hour, caused no further disruptions to air traffic.
A Norwegian Air pilot reported seeing three to five drones during an approach to the airport. This led to the temporary pause in landings, with one or more aircraft held in the air until the situation was clarified. No aircraft were diverted to alternative airports during this time.
This incident is part of a recent trend of disruptions to European aviation due to drone sightings and air incursions. The low-cost carrier Norwegian was the airline involved in this particular incident.
Oslo Airport resumed normal operations after the situation was clarified. There were no reported incidents or disruptions following the initial pause. Authorities continue to investigate the drone sighting.
