Introducing the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer: A Dive Watch with a Global Twist

Omega has unveiled a new addition to its Seamaster Planet Ocean collection, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer. This bold and technologically advanced dive watch combines Omega's renowned worldtimer complication with its robust dive watch expertise, offering a unique tool watch for both professional divers and global travelers.

Key Features

The Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer boasts a large, black ceramic case measuring 45.5mm in diameter and 17.4mm in thickness. With a water resistance rating of 600 meters, it is one of Omega’s most capable dive watches, equipped with a ceramic screw-down crown and helium escape valve for durability under deep-water conditions.

The dial showcases a central world map rendered in titanium, viewed from the North Pole perspective. Surrounding this are two-tone 24-hour and city rings that indicate time zones and daylight saving distinctions, allowing easy reading of global time at a glance. The watch comes in light grey or turquoise versions, accentuated with markers and hands coated in Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility underwater or in low light.

Powering the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer is the in-house Omega Caliber 8938, an automatic movement running at 25,200 vibrations per hour. This movement offers a 60-hour power reserve and Master Chronometer certification that guarantees accuracy, performance, and magnetic resistance.

The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel with a laser-ablated ceramic insert for dive timing, sapphire front and back crystals for scratch resistance and display, and an integrated structured black rubber strap with a ceramic-and-titanium folding clasp.

Pricing and Availability

Priced around EUR 16,300 / $14,800, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer is targeted at enthusiasts who want a high-performance dive watch combined with sophisticated worldtime functionality. The watch is available now at Omega boutiques and authorized dealers, priced at $14,800 for both turquoise and grey versions.

The Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer marks the first return of a worldtimer function in the Seamaster line in over 20 years, reflecting a significant innovation for Omega’s dive watches. By integrating a complex worldtimer complication into the rugged framework of the Planet Ocean dive watch series, Omega has created a unique tool watch that is both practical for professional divers and appealing for global travelers.
