Ola to Build World's Largest Electric Scooter Plant in India
Ola, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, is set to establish the world's largest scooter assembly plant in India. The facility, due to commence operations in the coming months, is expected to generate nearly 10,000 jobs and produce an initial two million units annually.
Ola has joined forces with Siemens to construct this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The plant will utilise Siemens' integrated Digital Twin design and manufacturing solutions, enabling Ola to digitalise and validate both its products and production processes. The facility will be equipped with nearly 5,000 robots, deployed across various functions to ensure high efficiency and precision.
Spanning over 500 acres, the plant will serve as Ola's global manufacturing hub, catering to customers in India, Europe, the UK, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
With an initial capacity of two million units a year, Ola's upcoming electric vehicle manufacturing facility is poised to revolutionise the global scooter market. The plant's commencement will not only boost Ola's production capabilities but also create thousands of new jobs, contributing significantly to India's economy.
