New Ubisoft Projects on the Horizon: A Look at All the Upcoming Ubisoft Games Currently in Development
Ubisoft, the renowned video game developer, has recently made a significant move by partnering with Tencent to create a new subsidiary dedicated to the development and expansion of its key franchises: Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.
The new subsidiary, led by Ubisoft veterans Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot as co-CEOs, aims to transform these franchises into "evergreen, multi-platform game ecosystems" with the goal of becoming billion-euro franchises. The focus is on shifting from traditional single-game launches to ongoing, sustainable franchise ecosystems, allowing for greater development team autonomy and agility to innovate in player experiences.
Tencent is investing approximately 1.16 billion euros ($1.35 billion) for a roughly 25% stake in the new company. This investment will help Ubisoft reduce debt and strengthen its balance sheet, providing stable funding for the development of large-scale games. Ubisoft expects to earn royalty payments exceeding 80 million euros annually based on the new subsidiary's revenue.
Among the upcoming games confirmed for release in 2025 and beyond are Assassin's Creed Jade, set in ancient China and planned for release on iOS and Android, and Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe, a new game with a teaser trailer suggesting a possible setting during the German witch trials.
In addition to these, Ubisoft has announced the remake of The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, currently in development following a restart in 2023, which is planned for a release in 2026. Another major Ubisoft game, Star Wars Outlaws, was launched in 2024.
Ubisoft has also confirmed the development of Anno 117: Pax Romana, set to be released on PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5 on November 13, 2025. Beyond Good and Evil 2, a prequel to the 2003 original featuring open-world RPG gameplay and branching narratives, is another upcoming Ubisoft game, though it does not have a concrete release date.
The Division Resurgence, a mobile-only game based on The Division, is also planned for release in 2025 but without a confirmed release date. Originally planned for a fall 2024 release, the game has since been delayed.
Other games in the pipeline include Project U, a co-op shooter game in development, Splinter Cell remake, developed by Ubisoft Toronto with the aim of preserving the spirit of the early games, and Tom Clancy's The Division 3, in the early stages of pre-production planning with Massive Entertainment as the developer.
This partnership represents a significant strategic move for Ubisoft, empowering its major franchises through dedicated leadership, substantial investment from Tencent, and a business model focused on long-term, multi-platform ecosystem development rather than standalone game titles.
