Samsung has announced the latest addition to its foldable smartphone lineup, the Galaxy Z Fold 7. While details about the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE remain scarce, some key features of the Fold 7 have been confirmed.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 boasts a significant upgrade in camera resolution, featuring a 200MP wide main camera, a major leap from the 50MP on its predecessor. The Fold 7 also equips the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, an optimized version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, promising improved performance and efficiency.

The device sports a 7.9-inch AMOLED 2X inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6.5-inch cover display, both offering smooth visuals. The Fold 7 comes with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The battery capacity remains at 4,400mAh, with fast wired charging at 25W and wireless charging at 15W.

In terms of cameras, the Fold 7 also includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, similar to its predecessor. The external selfie camera is a 10MP sensor, while the under-display camera has been improved from the prior 4MP, though exact specs are not disclosed.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 runs on Android 16 and One UI 8, and comes with seven years of major OS and security updates. It also supports the S Pen for enhanced productivity and features AI-enhanced camera capabilities for better zoom, object recognition, and scene optimization.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE, specific details are not fully detailed at this time. However, it is known that the Flip 7 will share some improvements in camera and performance with the Fold 7, including the use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The Flip 7 FE is expected to be a more affordable model, but its exact specifications remain unconfirmed.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 weighs 216 grams, less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and will be available for pre-order on Samsung.com. Pre-ordering offers a $50 credit that can be used for accessories or other devices like the Galaxy Watch 8, which is rumoured to have a redesign with new features.

The Unpacked event for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 is scheduled for Wednesday, July 9th at 10am ET. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting new devices from Samsung.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7, like other gadgets, incorporates the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring improved performance and efficiency. Additionally, it expands the camera technology with a 200MP wide main camera, while the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 might similarly benefit from this chipset improvement.
