Montra Electric Unveils 55-Ton Rhino 5538 EV Truck
Montra Electric has unveiled the Rhino 5538 EV, a 55-ton electric prime mover, at its Manesar facility in Gurugram. The truck, priced at ₹1.15 crore (ex-factory), offers a range of nearly 198 km and comes with a ten-year/900,000 km AMC contract.
The Rhino 5538 EV is powered by a 282 kWh LFP battery, delivering 380 HP and 2,000 Nm of torque. It offers a rapid battery-swap option, completed in under six minutes. Montra Electric guarantees 95 per cent uptime and provides advanced telematics and tailored financing solutions. The company has distinguished itself in the competitive landscape with its all-women-monitored automated battery-swap plant, inaugurated as India's first. Electrifying long-haul segments could significantly reduce pollution, cutting particulate and nitrous-oxide emissions by 40 per cent by 2050 and avoiding 838 billion litres of diesel consumption.
The Rhino 5538 EV, integrated with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in its eM&HCV assembly line, is set to revolutionize the long-haul trucking industry.
