Microsoft Hikes Xbox Series S/X Prices in US, Closes Online Film & TV Store
Microsoft has announced a price increase for its Xbox Series S and Series X hardware and software in the US. Additionally, the tech giant has decided to close its online movie and TV store, effective immediately.
The price hike affects both the Xbox Series S and Series X consoles, as well as their respective controllers and accessories. The new prices will be effective starting next week.
Microsoft's online movie and TV store, which was launched in 2016, will no longer be accessible to customers. The service offered movie and TV show rentals and purchases. Despite its closure, there are no reports of any company acquiring this business unit. Microsoft discontinued the service in August 2017, and there have been no official announcements regarding its sale.
Microsoft's Xbox Series S and Series X will now come at a higher price in the US. Meanwhile, the company's online movie and TV store has been shut down, leaving customers with alternative streaming services for their entertainment needs.
