Mazda Considers Electric Station Wagon Mazda6e for More Space, Practicality
Mazda has not dismissed the idea of producing an electric station wagon version of the Mazda6e, despite no official plans yet. The potential model could offer more space and family-friendliness than the sedan, which provides a calm, comfortable drive with a sporty heart.
Currently, electric station wagon options are scarce, particularly in the mid-size segment. Mazda's 'Kodo' design philosophy would suit the station wagon format, potentially undercutting competitors like Audi A6 e-tron, BMW i5 Touring, and VW ID.7 Tourer in price. The Mazda6e sedan's two battery sizes and performance levels could also apply to the station wagon version, offering up to 552 km range (WLTP) and 165 kW DC charging. German consumers might find such a practical and appealing model attractive. The concept was illustrated by designer Raphael Lacoste.
While Mazda has not confirmed plans to build a Mazda6e station wagon, the idea has not been ruled out. If produced, it could offer more utility and value than the sedan, with competitive pricing and performance. German consumers could benefit from this practical, appealing electric option in the mid-size segment.
