Mahindra's Latest Teaser Unveils Design for Upcoming Pick-Up Truck, Scheduled for Debut on August 15
Mahindra & Mahindra, the renowned Indian automaker, is set to reveal its latest concept vehicle, the Mahindra Vision.SXT, at its 'Freedom_Nu' event on Independence Day next month. The Vision.SXT is part of a new range of vehicles from Mahindra, which also includes the Vision.S, Vision.X, and Vision.T concepts.
The Mahindra Vision.SXT is a rugged, utility-focused SUV or pickup concept that promises to stand out with its unique features. Built on the Scorpio-N based Freedom_NU multi-energy platform, the Vision.SXT is designed to potentially support internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid, and electric vehicle (EV) powertrains.
A Modern Take on Off-Road Utility
The Vision.SXT boasts a boxy design with dual-purpose tyres, a clamshell bonnet, and a butch bumper, all reminiscent of the Mahindra Thar. It also features dual spare wheels, including a tailgate-mounted spare, a split tailgate, vertical LED lights, exposed hinges, wide wheel arches, and a heavy-duty bumper. Advanced safety and convenience technologies, such as Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and semi-automatic parking, along with comfort elements like a panoramic sunroof, are expected to be part of the package.
Bridging the Gap Between Thar and Scorpio
The Vision.SXT appears to be a more evolved, possibly extended or pickup version of the Vision S model, sharing styling and platform elements with the upcoming Scorpio-like SUVs. There is also a possibility that the Vision.SXT is linked with the Thar family, potentially representing a pickup truck variant based on the Thar or inspired by its rugged, off-road character.
Electric and Performance-Oriented Models in the Pipeline
The Vision.X concept, similar in silhouette to the XUV700, is expected to be the XEV 7e, the electric version of the Mahindra XUV700. The Vision T concept, on the other hand, is expected to be an electric variant or evolution of the Mahindra Thar. The Vision S concept features an upright front-end, flared arches, and a clamshell bonnet with vents, suggesting a performance-oriented model.
Global Expansion on the Horizon
The new range of Mahindra vehicles is expected to be positioned as global offerings to fuel the brand's overseas expansion. The Vision.SXT, with its rugged design and modern technology, is a key part of Mahindra's future SUV and pickup strategy, bridging between their popular Thar and Scorpio lineages.
