Luxury sedan model S800 from the Huawei-JAC collaboration brand Maextro set for release towards the end of May.

The Maextro S800, a groundbreaking electric sedan, is set to make its debut at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show in Shenzhen at the end of May. This luxury vehicle, a joint venture between Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), promises state-of-the-art electric powertrain technology, cutting-edge autonomous driving capabilities, and luxury design innovations.

### Specifications

The Maextro S800 offers a choice between pure electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options. The power output ranges from 390 kW to 635 kW (523–852 hp), providing impressive acceleration from 0–100 km/h in around 4.3 seconds (dual-motor version). The vehicle's top speed is approximately 210 km/h (130 mph).

Standard all-wheel drive and a multi-link suspension system ensure superior handling and agility, even for a large sedan. Unique features such as rear-wheel steering and a "crab walk" mode enhance maneuverability, making the Maextro S800 as agile as a small car.

### Battery & Range

The Maextro S800 is equipped with advanced NMC CATL battery packs of either 65 kWh or 97 kWh capacity. The 95 kWh battery variant provides approximately 700 km (435 miles) CLTC-certified range, with a realistic range closer to 600 km (370 miles). The vehicle supports 800V architecture for ultra-fast charging, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in about 10.5 to 12 minutes using 6C fast charging. Extended-range models can achieve up to 1,155–1,333 km (718–828 miles) in range.

### Design

The Maextro S800 embraces the "Zhizun New Luxury" design language, boasting a sleek aerodynamic body with a drag coefficient as low as 0.206 Cd. Unique features include two-tone paint schemes, stationary hubcaps, and signature lighting elements like 'Starry Splendour' headlights comprising 1,296 LEDs. The fiber-optic door handles create a constellation effect, and the 'Nebula Canvas' taillights add a holographic touch.

### Features

The interior of the Maextro S800 offers luxurious comfort with unique gesture-controlled automatic doors, an intelligent starry-sky ceiling with multiple ambient modes, four-zone climate control, UV air purification, and Huawei's ALPS cabin system featuring dual negative-ion air detoxification. The premium HUAWEI SOUND Ultimate system delivers 2,920W of power through 43 speakers, including adaptive sound zones and sleep detection.

### L3 Autonomous Driving Architecture

The Maextro S800 is equipped with Huawei's ADS 4.0 driver assistance system, classified as Level 3 autonomous driving. This system features an extensive sensor suite with 36 total sensors, including 4 LiDARs, high-definition cameras, radar systems, and ultrasonic sensors. This advanced technology enables proactive collision prevention even in challenging conditions like fog or dust, provides proactive emergency contact and backup power in crash scenarios, and incorporates multi-environment situational awareness and enhanced safety measures for semi-autonomous driving capabilities.

### Platform and Technology

The Maextro S800 is built on the Tuling Longxing platform with a cutting-edge 800V electrical architecture. Huawei’s involvement extends beyond infotainment to include chassis tuning and autonomous driving technologies.

In summary, the Maextro S800 combines state-of-the-art electric powertrain technology, cutting-edge autonomous driving capabilities at L3, and luxury design and comfort innovations, positioning it as a flagship electric sedan. It stands out for its ultra-fast charging, extended range, and a rich sensor suite powering its autonomous driving system.
